Some Things Never Change

We got to witness Psycho Girl today as Sophia had to get a flu shot. Jake also had to get one and Sophia requested he go first. BIG MISTAKE. Sophia burst into tears, tried running out the door, I grabbed her and the nurse muttered "oh boy!" under her breath. Yup, she freaked. Jake ended up taking Ella & Addy out of the room because he didn't want them traumatized (what a good son I have). The nurse and I had to hold her down while she got poked. Sophia screamed and cried for the next 20 minutes as we left the office and came home. This girl has and most likely will always be afraid of shots. I guess this is just another thing she gets from her momma!

A Post!

I've been neglecting this blog and have actually thought of closing it down. I just don't have it in me lately to blog. I don't know why (facebook) but I feel like I don't have much time to devote to this blog (facebook). My mind is on other things (facebook).

So instead of rattling off what I've been up to, I thought I'd post some pictures instead!

I watch Addy 3 days a week & also my neighbor's 2 girls every now and then

Ella & Ellie...bff's (they are the same size yet Ellie is 1 1/2 years younger than Ella)

I realized I never posted pictures of my kids for Halloween
(Jake = Anakin, Sophia = Cheetah girl (repeat), Ella = butterfly)

They DO love eachother!

Addy turned 1!! (time for #2 Adam & Michelle...hint, hint)

Ella playing outside after the first snow. I don't know if you can tell by my the picture, but Addy was bawling. She wanted to go outside too but didn't have any warm clothes.

This is how I found Ella after it got too quiet in the office. This position did not look comfortable!

Brian & Jodi & their family came over to play Guitar Hero. Jake & Brian became fast friends! :)

Meeting baby Becket!

Picking out and cutting down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. This will always be a tradition of ours (even when I'm not quite in the mood to get it).

My 3 helpers (don't Carley & Sophia look like twins!)
Hopefully I will get more in the mood to blog. But if I don't, I hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas and happy New Year!!!

All About MIO

I'm bored with blogging. I don't know if it's because I'm addicted to Facebook now but I just either don't feel like I have time to blog or just don't know what to blog about. So since I like filling these stupid things out that get emailed to me, I thought I'd do it on here instead.

1. What are your nicknames?
I'd have to say anyone who calls me anything but my name calls me Pockets. There's a story behind this nickname but I'm not going to go into it. I've also been called sassy, sassy-krissy-boo-boo-kitty, krissy, or KB.

2. What game show and/or reality show would you like to be on?
I would love to be on the Amazing Race. I'd suck at it since I can barely read a map but that's why you have a partner right? I don't think I could do it with Mike though. We'd be the bickering, name-calling, married couple. After almost divorcing after a canoe trip, I don't think we could handle the Amazing Race. :)

3. What was the first movie you bought in VHS or DVD?
I am way too old to answer this question. The last movie I bought was Annie. I love that movie!

4. What is your favorite scent?
Coffee. I have a bit of a problem.

5. If you had a million dollars that you could only spend on yourself, what would you do with it?
I'd pay off our house & the vehicles and Mike's college loan. Then I'd buy a motorhome and travel. There are so many places I've never been to, especially out west, and taking a road trip sounds like a lot of fun.

6. What one place have you visited that you can't forget and want to go back to?
The Smokey Mountains. Mike and I went there a year after we were married. We camped in our small 3 person tent for 10 days, changing camping spots every couple days. It was beautiful! I'd love to do that again...maybe in a larger tent this time!

7. Do you trust easily?
I'd have to say no. You have to earn trust.

8. Do you think before you act, or act before you think?
Depends if beer is involved.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Yes, bad stuff happening to those closes to me.

10. Do you have a good body image?
No.

11. What is your favorite fruit?
raspberries

12. What websites do you visit daily?
facebook, woodtv, people

13. What have you been seriously addicted to lately?
grande skinny spiced pumpkin frappuccino no whip

14. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
The B-I-B-L-E. My girls sing this constantly

15. What's your favorite item of clothing?
comfy pants

16. Do you think Rice Krispies are yummy?
Yes, as long as there's some sugar on top. They are even better with some butter & marshmallows!

17. What would you do if you saw $100 lying on the ground?
If no one else around claimed it, I'd scream and put it in my pocket.

18. What items could you not go without during the day?
My computer and coffee.

19. What should you be doing right now?
Taking a nap...err, I mean cleaning :)

20. Name 3 people who should be tagged.
Sara Leys, Sara Meengs, Janine

Toilet for 2?

My girls just came out of the bathroom together, both zipping up their pants. I knew they both had to go the bathroom but I would have thought they would take turns. Turns out they both sat on the toilet together (one on each side). This is taking girls going to the bathroom together to a whole new level!

My darling little girls :)

Charlie Parker

The last time I took Charlie to the vet she pretty much told me I was an awful momma because Charlie was so fat. That was 8 years ago and I haven't been back (out of spite but also because he's an indoor cat & has never had a problem). Tuesday night I noticed that Charlie's eyes were clouded over. I immediately thought he was going blind but when I googled it I realized he may have an infection in his eyes that is causing the cloudiness...which brings me to today. I was able to get him in to the vet this afternoon. He was weighed and got right into a room. The vet gave him an exam (which he passed...phew) and then did a bunch of different tests with his eyes. He has some lesions and hopefully they will get better with the ointment they gave me.

Now, the real reason I posted is because I still can't get over how much this cat weighs....drum roll please....21.4 pounds! Charlie is on a weight management food but obviously it isn't helping. The doctor suggested we quit that and put him on a low carb diet instead of a high fiber one like we've been doing. I feel like I'm going to put my cat on the Atkins Diet but I guess since his playing weight is 21.4 pounds this cat needs it!

Birthdays & Block Parties

Once again, I'm a huge slacker when it comes to blogging...

BIRTHDAY! Sophia turned 6 years old on Saturday, September 27. Time flies I tell ya! I took Sophia and her friend Carley to Libby Lu and they had so much fun! They first got to pick out a princess dress to wear, then they got their nails painted (w/ glitter), make-up and stickers put on their face (w/ glitter), and hair done (w/ glitter). They pretty much sprayed the girls down with glitter and in the end I walked out of there sparkling too.

Before

After

After all that, they got to sing and do a dance to a Hannah Montana song. Carley was too shy to do it but Sophia LOVED it!

BLOCK PARTY! September 27 wasn't only Sophia's birthday but it was also the day of our annual neighborhood block party. The "committee" this year did a wonderful job (I think each year it just gets better and better). Not only did Brian bring a fire truck again, but they also had a scavenger hunt for the kids, bobbing for apples, ping pong, ladder golf, cornhole and live music (one of the neighbors sings & plays the guitar). They rented a popcorn machine and a snowcone machine which was also a huge hit. The kids were out cold once their heads hit the pillows that night which was great because the parents sat out by the fire!

You know you listen to too much of your kids music when...

your all alone in your van waiting for your kids to get out of school and you realize you are chair dancing and singing at the top of your lungs to High School Musical. Yeah, I realized what I was doing when a parent walked next to my van. Sweet!
